Our K through 5th Grade environment, "Uptown" runs during our 1015 & 1130 am Sunday Services. Kids gather in a large group to experience worship through high-energy songs, hear about our monthly virtue (such as Faith, Bravery, Endurance) and listen to storytellers reenact Biblical stories!
One virtue is presented for an entire month with weekly bottom lines that illustrate different Biblical illustrations. Each lesson includes an engaging presentation of basic truths as well as an illustration of how God built His character in people. Worship is always included so kids experience and learn how to celebrate who God is and what He's done for them.
The large group is followed by small groups, where the kids can talk about what they just experienced and be cared for by a dedicated small group leader. Small Group activities include a variety of games and experiences meant to promote discussion and life application of the lesson, development of faith skills, and most importantly build relationships among the leader and friends in the group.
Every week kids will learn 3 basic truths according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52:
1. I need to make the wise choice.
2. I can trust God no matter what.
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
"...and Jesus Grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man."
The curriculum we use is called 252basics.
All children must be registered and signed in. No drop offs are allowed. During the sign in process you will receive two security badges, one for the parent and one for the child. This badge must be handed in when picking up your child from Uptown.
