Giving

Because so many people think the church is ‘all about money,' we wondered if we should even have an opportunity for online giving. As a church, we're trying to be really careful about not reinforcing any negative assumptions people may have made.

During our Sunday Service, before we receive the offering, we announce each week that we don't want our guests to feel any pressure to give.

The truth is, God has supplied all our needs from Day One, and we have zero doubt that He will continue to do so. Having said that, True North is working hard to create relevant environments where the people of Long Island can hear about God's love for them and we are always looking for people who will partner with us in that goal.

Giving is a really personal matter, and it's changed a lot over the centuries. When the Bible was written, gifts often came in the form of bushels of wheat, livestock, etc. Today, money is digital - hence, our decision to allow folks an opportunity to do their giving on the internet.

A couple of quick points about online giving - 1) Remember that there's no substitute for bringing your gifts to the Lord at church, during a service. Online giving is great, but there's still nothing like being there. And 2) We urge you to practice good stewardship. That is, charge only what you can pay off at the end of the month.

Having said that, especially if you're out of town and you're not carrying a balance, we can't think of any reason why you shouldn't rack up a few frequent flyer miles while you give to the Lord!

True North has set up an account which allows you to make a donation using your checking account, debit card or credit card. You may also give using a PayPal account. Click the appropriate button below to proceed, and thanks so much for your support!
